Sunday in church I announced that Interfaith was having an Assembly to use "house meetings" to learn about concerns and set some priorities for the next year or two. We have invited the candidates for city council and mayor primarily to listen to our concerns.
Today we learned that our assembly conflicts with a candidates forum the same night. We had no way of knowing this! The sponsors of the forum are a P.A.C. we are all unfamiliar with.
WE ARE GOING AHEAD WITH OUR ASSEMBLY. We will have "house meetings" to surface concerns and issues as planned.
The only change is that we do not expect many (if any) of the candidates to attend our Assembly. That's OK! We will deliver our concerns to those who are elected personally.
We will give a report on our background meetings with them, as well as a report on what we have accomplished recently.
