Ministries

St. Thomas' Episcopal Church is actively engaged in expanding God's Kingdom on earth. These are our ministries:

Christian Community Ministry
CCM accepts food and clothing. Bring your offering of nonperishable food items and place them in the basket in the narthex at St. Thomas'. The gifts are taken to CCM.

Early Childhood Support Services
The St. Clare Chapter of the Daughters of the King collect diapers for ECSS of Ouachita Parish, a program providing assistance to young families. Purchase a package of diapers and place them in the tall basket in the narthex at St. Thomas'. Once a month a Daughter delivers them to ECSS.

Refuge of Hope
This is a ministry to the homeless and hungry of Monroe. It is a shelter located on DeSiard Street, near downtown, that provides meals, showers, a place to wash clothes, and other resources. St. Thomas' provides and prepares the noon meal on the 5th Wednesdays of each month, and makes other contributions as needed, and as we are able.

Collecting Eyeglasses
Bring your old eyeglasses to the church for donation to mission outreach programs. There is a basket in the Narthex.

Open Table Ministry
Open Table Ministry works with DFCS to help those who are transitioning out of Foster Care. Please keep this group in your thoughts and prayers.

If you would like to get involved in any of these ministries, or have an idea of another that we should start, speak to Mother Dawnell, Deacon Bette, any vestry member, or any member of St. Thomas'!
